THE SCHOOL - UPPER DIVISION (LEVELS 4 - 6)

The School ballet levels are designed to prioritize several key components for students: readiness over age, technical mastery over speed, and confidence through consistency. The Upper Division includes Ballet 4 - Ballet 6 levels. Required weekly ballet classes support the training needs of dancers already en pointe, and expand opportunities with access to additional classes. Consistent technique training helps dancers safely develop strength, alignment, and coordination. MBT's training approach aligns with recommendations from the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS).

Level 6 represents the official pre-professional standard at MBT. This level envelops a comprehensive and rigorous program designed to prepare dancers for the next stage in their journey, whether that includes a professional dance career or personal mastery.

Performing opportunities: Upper Division students are eligible to perform in The Nutcracker, the Spring Ballet, and the end-of-year Spring Performance. Informal and community-based performances may be available throughout the year.

All Upper Division programs require faculty placement. Please call the office or fill out a form to schedule your free placement class.
