CHILDREN'S DIVISION PROGRAM DETAILS

For MBT’s youngest students, the Creative Movement Program provides an engaging weekly class to start learning fundamentals of ballet technique and vocabulary. Focusing on gross motor skills, this class is taught using imagery, fun games, and music.

An extension of the Creative Movement Program, MBT’s Early Ballet Program continues building fundamentals of ballet technique and vocabulary in a fun way. This program begins the transition from gross to fine motor skills. While most of the class is conducted in center exercises, limited barre work begins in Early Ballet 2.

In Mini Hip Hop & Mini Jazz/Tap, students will experience strength building exercises, creative movement exploration, and introductions to hip hop; jazz and tap techniques. Dancers will learn new steps and combinations incorporating rhythm and style.

Children's Division students have the option to participate in the Spring Show in a traditional theater. There will be a mini-observation week each semester for parents/families to observe classes.
