Stephanie Wendell

Stephanie Wendell believes the performing arts have the power to change lives. With more than 20 years of experience as an educator, director, choreographer, performer, and arts administrator, she is passionate about creating spaces where young people develop confidence, resilience, creativity, and a true sense of belonging. Her greatest joy is helping students discover not only their artistic potential, but also the life skills that come from discipline, collaboration, and self-expression.

Originally from Morgantown, West Virginia, Stephanie earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from Point Park University before launching her professional performance career in New York City. She appeared in numerous theatrical productions, including a national tour of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, experiences that continue to shape her work as an educator and arts leader.

Throughout her career, Stephanie has taught dance and theatre in Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland while directing, producing, and choreographing countless productions. She has held educational leadership positions including Director of Theatre at The Academy of the Holy Cross and Arts Department Chair at The Siena School, where she led faculty across two campuses and championed innovative, student-centered arts programming. Stephanie has also served as a guest teaching artist for the Maryland Thespian Festival and the Dance Masters of America Mid-Atlantic Convention.

As Executive Director of Metropolitan Ballet Theatre, Stephanie is honored to lead an organization that is committed to artistic excellence, meaningful education, and a strong sense of community. She works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and families to ensure that every student has the opportunity to grow as both an artist and an individual. She believes that the arts should be challenging, inspiring, and welcoming, and that the lessons learned in the studio extend far beyond the stage.
