Allison Cannon

Allison Cannon began her classical training at age four at Berrend Dance Centre under the direction of Patricia Berrend, graduating in 2016. During her early training, she performed featured roles such as Snow Queen and Flower Soloist in The Nutcracker and a soloist in Choo-san Goh’s Octet.

She continued her education at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, under the tutelage of Susan Jaffe and other notable teachers such as Jennet Zerbe, Jared Redick, and Misha Tchoupakov. Her collegiate repertoire includes soloist roles in Paquita, Raymonda, and Balanchine’s La Source, as well as performing as a guest artist in the title role of Odette in Swan Lake.

In 2019, she joined the Virginia National Ballet company, dancing soloist roles such as the Flower Soloist in The Nutcracker and the Spring Fairy in Cinderella. Alongside her company performance, she expanded her career into education, beginning her teaching journey at the Berrend Dance Centre and the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C.

In 2020, Ms. Allison graduated from UNCSA with a BFA majoring in Classical ballet. Her current pedagogical focus is on helping dancers build foundational technique through targeted conditioning and strength exercises to develop physical resilience and artistry.
