COVID-19 Safety Protocols

CURRENT STUDIO PROCEDURES AT GAITHERSBURG: (as of 3/22/22)

  • Gaithersburg student drop off is at the front door and pick up is at the back door. Please follow the one way arrows in the parking lot. If the front door is locked and no one is there to greet you, please ring the doorbell.  

  • Pick up will be at the back entrance of our building. Follow the one way arrows and pull up along the right side of the road as close as you can to the curb. If you are the first car, please pull all the way down towards the dumpster to allow more cars to line up behind you. Dancers will be walked to the back of the building at the end of their class. Please call the office to notify our staff if you are running late. Your dancer will be brought back in the building to wait in the front office and you will have to park and ring the doorbell at the front door.   

  • Hand sanitizer is available at the door and in all of the studios.

  • Masks will continue to be MANDATORY in public spaces: lobby, corridors, bathrooms, hallways, and public offices.

  • Masks will continue to be mandatory in the studio for dance classes for the following:
    Creative Movement, Early Ballet, Mini HipHop, Mini Tap, Beginning Ballet, Academic Ballet 1, Academic Ballet 2, Ballet 2y, Academic Ballet 3, Ballet 3y, Academic Ballet 4, Ballet 4y, Street Jazz, Broadway Jazz and Tap for ages 9+, Jazz 2, Hip Hop for ages 7+, Modern 1.

  • Masks will be MASK OPTIONAL for: Ballet 5s, Ballet 6s, Ballet 7s, Ballet 8s, Ballet 9s, Teen Hip Hop, Teen Ballet/Ballet 5Y, Broadway Jazz and Tap for 11+, Adult Classes beginning Tuesday, March 22nd. Students must maintain 6 feet distance from other students. If faculty needs to correct a student in close contact they will pull their mask up. We ask that students keep their masks close by or they can wear them under their chin in case they need to pull their masks up to exit the studio or to approach another student in close contact.

  • If your child is not feeling well, or if any member of your household is sick, please do not send your dancer to class. Makeup classes can be scheduled through the office.

  • If you or any member of your household tests positive or has been exposed to COVID-19. please call the office as soon as you can after knowledge of this. If you are unable to reach the office, send an email to brenda@mbtdance.org and elizabeth@mbtdance.org.  

  • Please do your best to drop off and pick up promptly and if you know your child will be absent/late/or need to be picked up early from class, notify the office as well. 

  • While we continue to keep our staff and students safe, only dancers will be allowed in the building, thank you for your understanding.
